Make sure your solar panels are properly earthed or grounded. Your problems may start here if your system is not properly grounded.
2. Inverter
Protect your inverter against spikes in voltage which are very common during thunderstorms especially for grid connected inverters.
3. Turn off sensitive gadgets
During an intense storm turn off your sensitive appliances and unplug them from the wall sockets. Overtime due to rising temperatures thunderstorms are becoming more violent and intense.
