Battery Care: Ventilation
Why is ventilation of both sealed and non sealed lead acid batteries important? When batteries are charging they emit hydrogen gas which can be potentially explosive. Whereever you place your bateries the room must be properly ventilented and must prevent the build up of these flamable gases.
This is very important as batteries emit gases during the time of rapid recharging. During normal operations the gases released are relatively small. However when being charged the rate of emision of the gases increases a lot. This is why when installing lead acid batteries special care must be taken to ensure that there is sufficient ventilation.
